Who is Kyros?

Kyros is a venture-backed startup based in Minneapolis with a mission to make recovery from Substance Use Disorder possible for anybody. We are building and deploying a workforce of community-based Certified Peer Recovery Specialists contractors who provide services to those in need through a network of partnerships, as well as directly in the community, enabled by our proprietary technology platform. Our approach is providing instant, centralized access to resources, provider care, and peer support for individuals suffering from substance use disorder.

Job Summary:

The LICDC Assessor is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations of individuals dealing with substance abuse or addiction issues. They utilize their expertise in counseling, addiction psychology, and related fields to determine appropriate treatment plans and recommendations. This is a remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of clients to determine the extent and nature of their substance abuse or addiction problems. This involves gathering information through interviews, standardized assessments, and other evaluation tools.
  • Clinical Diagnosis: Utilize diagnostic criteria to determine the presence and severity of substance use disorders and any co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client history, and identified needs. Collaborate with other professionals to establish comprehensive care strategies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Client Counseling and Support: Provide counseling, guidance, and support to clients and their families, assisting them in understanding addiction, coping strategies, and available resources.
  • Referrals and Collaboration: Coordinate with healthcare providers, social workers, and other professionals to facilitate referrals for additional services like medical care, psychiatric evaluation, or community support.
  • Stay Updated: Stay informed about current trends, developments, and best practices in substance abuse treatment and assessment through continuing education and professional development.

Requirements:

  • LICDC Certification: Must hold a valid license as a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor or similar certification, as required by the state.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in substance abuse assessment, counseling, or related roles may be required.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of addiction psychology, assessment tools, treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and other professionals effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may involve office hours, and sometimes, flexibility in scheduling to accommodate client needs.
  • May involve working in clinical settings, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, or private practice.
